Connect Four

Take turns dropping discs and line up four first. Play two players on one device or against an easy or hard AI.

Connect Four strategy

The middle column is the most valuable because it takes part in the most possible lines of four. Be careful not to give your opponent a foothold: a disc you drop can become the base of their winning move in the row above. The hard AI uses minimax with alpha-beta pruning, looks six moves ahead, and scores every four-cell window on the board. The first player alternates every round to keep it fair.

How to install the app

This browser has not offered an automatic install button yet. Install it from the browser menu:

Android (Chrome)
Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, then choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
iPhone / iPad (Safari)
Tap the Share button (the square with an up arrow), then choose "Add to Home Screen". On iOS this only works in Safari.
Computer (Chrome / Edge)
Click the install icon (a monitor with a down arrow) at the right end of the address bar, or menu ⋮ → "Install Daily Apps".
