Typing Speed Test

Measure your typing speed in words per minute and your accuracy, with everyday text or code snippets. Choose 30, 60, or 120 seconds.

How words per minute is calculated

Typing tests treat one word as five characters, so WPM = correct characters ÷ 5 ÷ minutes. Accuracy counts every key you pressed, including ones you later deleted. The average person types around 40 WPM; 60 and above is fast. Code mode practices symbols like brackets and semicolons that everyday typing rarely uses.
