Spirit Level

Turn your phone into a spirit level: check tables or shelves in flat mode, or picture frames and wall shelves in edge mode. Calibratable.

A spirit level from the accelerometer

Your phone’s accelerometer measures the direction of gravity, so tilt can be computed in degrees. Flat mode shows a two-axis bubble for surfaces like tables; edge mode measures single-axis tilt when you hold the phone’s edge against an object. A case or a slightly off sensor can be corrected by calibrating on a surface you know is level. The ✓ LEVEL mark appears when tilt is under 0.5°.

How to install the app

This browser has not offered an automatic install button yet. Install it from the browser menu:

Android (Chrome)
Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, then choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
iPhone / iPad (Safari)
Tap the Share button (the square with an up arrow), then choose "Add to Home Screen". On iOS this only works in Safari.
Computer (Chrome / Edge)
Click the install icon (a monitor with a down arrow) at the right end of the address bar, or menu ⋮ → "Install Daily Apps".
